€20m Denia ring road project gets green light

DENIA Town Hall has announced that the €20 million project for the construction of a northern ring road will go ahead. The project, first conceived in 1999, is expected to bring many advantages to Denia including improved access to the town and the expansion of schools, according to Councillor for Town Planning Pepa Font.

Once completed the ring road from the north of Denia will continue via Torrecremada and link to the southern ring road. It is expected this will ease traffic congestion in the direction of the port from the north. It will also enable people to access Les Marines without having to drive through the town centre.

Denia Town Hall has been given the green light from the government to manage the northern ring road project itself  which it will do via the company FCC Construcciones that will carry out urbanisation works.

In a month or two the town hall will seek final approval for the project at plenary session, and if given the go-ahead, urbanisation works could begin before summer.

Once the project is approved at plenary session, others will also get the go-ahead, including the expansion of the Maria Ibars and Raquel Paya Schools.
