Farmers in Alicante are sleeping in their fields to stop their crops being robbed. A spokesman for the Young Farmers Union revealed that there have been cases where entire harvests – up 20 tons – have been taken, showing that the thieves are real professionals, who know what they are doing. Some farmers have contracted security companies to patrol the crops’.
