Some of Mallorca’s best jazz musicians will play for free every Thursday night at Mood Beach Club in Costa D’en Blanes, Calviá. The new jazz nights begin on February 3rd with a special performance by the Palma Jazz Quartet.
The Quartet is led by Geoff Frosell, a trombone player from London. The pianist is Manfred Kullmann who started playing at the age of 5. He has played with some of the most famous names in Jazz, including Shirley Bassey, Count Basie Orchestra, Toots Thieleman, Philip Catherine, Buddy Rich, and Stan Getz. The other members of the quartet are Steve Bergendy on double bass, and Jaume Ginard on drums.
They will play Jazz Standards from the “Great American Songbook”, tunes by jazz legends such as Miles Davis, Wayne Shorter, Dizzy Gillespie, Duke Ellington as well as original compositions by Manfred Kullmann. The free concerts will be presented from 21.00 until 23.00 every Thursday.
