THE Torrevieja Fishermen’s Association have a rat problem; they are destroying the fishing nets kept on the pier. This situation has been reported to the Valencian Ports General Directorate, whose responsibility it is to solve the issue, according to the association.
Repairing fishing nets is hard work and their gear can be worth between €18,000 and €24,000.
Not only are the fishing nets being attacked by rats, but due to the lack of night guards, the vessels themselves at times have become the targets of pranks.
