Several members of the Torrevieja Costa Lions Club attended the excellent Burns night held in the Quesada Country Club. Entertainment on the evening was of the highest standard with piper Richard Anderson, specially flown in from Scotland and Steve Attwood Dawe drum major of the Torrevieja Pipes and drums performing a magnificent drum solo.
Four young ladies from the dance group Totally Dance entertained the throng with their version of Scottish Country dancing.
Lion President Iain Bennett proposed the “Toast tae the Lassies” with Lion Treasurer Janette Bennett offering the reply from the Lassies.
As in previous years Gary invited the Lions to do some fund raising and the ensuing raffle raised 220.00 euros for the Lions childrens charities. The winner of the raffle was Bill Cobbe from Ireland now living in Quesada and he is pictured with the organiser Gary, Piper Richard and Lion President Iain.
