A BODY was found in a cesspit on the outskirts of Alhaurin el Grande known as El Borrajo. A local resident walking in the area discovered the body after noticing the gate to the property where the cesspit is located appeared to have been forced open. When he saw what appeared to be a leg in the water, he alerted the emergency services.
The body is so deteriorated that it has been impossible to determine if the victim is a man or a woman, although it is suspected to be a man.
Investigators now wait in hope that an autopsy will reveal the cause of death and identity of the victim. There have been reports that the victim may have been tied up, as plastic cuffs and ropes were found in the cesspit.
In October the lock to the well was broken.
