The Guardia Civil are investigating the alleged illegal construction of almost 100 homes in Partaloa. The investigation began based on a report made in a court in Huercal Overa by the mayor, Alejandro Lopez, and the Guardia Civil, in a case of suspected corruption which would involve both PSOE and PP councillors.
The houses are located in Retamar, Cuesta de los Justos, Piedra Amarilla, Cañada Honda and Los Camarotes.
Most of them are part of a 70-house development, and 80 per cent were built by two promoters owned by Amador Mora Montalvo, charged in the corruption case.
Also charged is socialist Councillor and mayoral candidate, Antonio Peñuela Gonzalez, who allegedly had power of attorney for the two companies; socialist Federico Molina, PP councillor Jose Gonzalez and the man in charge of urban development, Emilio Jose Garcia Rodriguez.
