1,700 pupils study Islamic and Jewish faiths in Malaga

THERE are more than 1,700 students taking lessons in the Islamic and Jewish faiths in Malaga province, according to the Education Delegation. Lessons for four religious groups are currently available in Malaga; Catholic, Islamic, Evangelist, Jewish, as well as History and Culture of Religions.

There are 171,099 taking Catholic religion in Infant, Primary and Secondary schools, followed by 1,548 in Islamic studies, 1,056 in Evangelism, and 223 in Judaism.

Islamic studies are available at 17 schools in the province.

More than 95 per cent of the Jewish students are in Estepona.
