Nerja cocaine network busted

THE Guardia Civil in Nerja have arrested four people charged with robbery, trafficking with cocaine, and prostitution. The investigation began after a report that money and cheques had been stolen from a local hotel. Once the culprits were located, the network was uncovered, revealing the existence of a group of people of different nationalities and professions, including the security guard at the hotel.

The cheques were given to different members to cash, making sure that they were for quantities under €1,200.

This money would pay for cocaine, which was later sold to clients and prostitutes at a brothel in Torrox where one of the members worked. The prostitutes were also paid by the gang to attend private meetings.

The officers seized cocaine and several amounts of cash in small denomination notes.
