SEVEN environmentalist groups have brought a contentious administrative case to the Andalucia Supreme Court of Justice demanding the cautionary suspension of the Natural Parks Law. The groups consider that the law leaves natural parks unprotected and favours legalization of buildings such as the Algarrobico Hotel.
According to the spokesperson for ‘Salvemos Mojacar’, Jaime del Val, they also intend to bring a case against the Andalucian Environmental Councillor, Jose Juan Diaz Trillo, for alleged corruption for having approved the law.
They claim the law allows protected land to be used for projects such as hotels, golf courses and other projects.
