POLICE in Malaga arrested a man allegedly pretending to be scouting young talent for European Football Clubs and charging up to €500, police said.
The man was offering false contracts with the major clubs in exchange for sums usually ranging from €150 to €300, which he demanded from the parents, claiming that the youths would be called by the teams to see them play.
He advertised on websites and by word of mouth.
After seeing that this never happened, the parents of ten children reported the fraud to the police.
Some of them had been told to go to Malaga Airport to get a flight to Greece, but no-one ever arrived to pick accompany them.
He was set free with charges of fraud.
