IBERIA has ruled out the possibility of launching a direct flight between Malaga and New York which would operate all year. This leaves Delta Air Lines as the only company offering the flight, but only during the high season.
Iberia spokespersons have said that launching the flight is not amongst their immediate plans despite the offers from the Junta de Andalucia and the constant requests from the tourist sector for a permanent connection for the US market.
The Junta was hoping for a permanent connection in order to increase the number of American tourists visiting the area.
Meanwhile, on March 28, the company will launch a new route from Madrid to Los Angeles.
