Rojales man held for trying to strangle ex-wife

LOCAL POLICE have arrested a man in Rojales for allegedly trying to strangle his ex-wife in February. The emergency services alerted a patrol of the “violent attitude” of a man at the gates of the property. On arrival officers encountered two men, one of whom was the detainee, fighting.

The woman decided to tell police what had happened the month before as she was very frightened, according to an official police statement.

Initially she chose not to report the incident, but the latest incident and due to the attitude of the detainee she did so.

The detainee and victim are in the process of separation.
