‘Violent’ robbers arrested in Elda

THREE people have been arrested in Elda by National Police. They are suspected of several robberies at gas stations and establishments where “excessive violence” was used, according to the police report. The suspects – aged between 19 and 22 – are said to have used a butchers knife, a mason’s pick, knives and a rolling pin to threaten employees.

One of the detainees apparently used such violence that employees “were left traumatised and others injured”.

All the shops that were robbed were in the same part of town and the attackers covered their heads and part of their faces before entering, so investigators focused on locals who were familiar enough to have to hide their face and the cooperation of citizens was critical to ‘discovering’ the identity and the arrest of the perpetrators.
