A MAN who allegedly stabbed a man to death in Malaga was arrested in Madrid after a plainclothes policeman sitting next to him on a bus overheard him recounting the murder over his mobile phone. In the early hours of Monday morning, he was sat next to a 19-year-old man on the bus when he heard him saying on his mobile phone that he had killed someone.
The officer sent text messages to the National Police describing the suspect and the events he was talking about. The police confirmed the case and the suspect was arrested when he got off the bus in Madrid.
He is believed to be one of eight people, all of whom have been arrested, who were involved in a knife fight in Malaga City, in which a 37-year-old Colombian man died on Saturday. The victim had been attempting to stop the fight.
Two of the men arrested have been jailed.
