THE Guardia Civil has launched a counseling program for officers and relatives who have been affected by terrorist attacks. The first phase of the program will be implemented in Palma de Mallorca, Madrid and Burgos and then later extended to other Spanish provinces.
Psychologists will evaluate and treat the disorders most frequently experienced following terrorist attacks including post-traumatic stress, depression, agoraphobia, anxiety disorders and panic attacks.
In the opening seminar on Monday, the Director General of the Police and Guardia Civil, Francisco Javier Velazquez, reminded all of the 1,200 deaths from terrorism in Spain.
