Marchers to demand cycle-friendly Costa

TO coincide with Malaga’s third Bike Week, on Sunday April 10 bike enthusiasts from Marbella, Mijas, Fuengirola and Malaga will march to demand the towns be made more cycle-friendly. Among the demands are new cycle lanes to be created in the Costa del Sol.

In Marbella the march will start at 11am from Avenida del Mar, where it will return to read a manifesto agreed on by the various cyclists associations and has the support of the Plan of Sustainable Mobility of the Association of Municipalities of the Costa del Sol, who is sponsoring the event.

In Fuengirola it starts from Plaza de España at 11am and finishes in Mijas in the parque de Andalucia in Las Lagunas.

In Malaga it starts at Plaza de la Marina, also at 11am.

They aim to set up a mobility plan that combines efficient sustainable transport, and to improve and implement an infrastructure for pedestrians and cyclists by removing architectural barriers and creating specific areas for both.

Anybody who comes by bicycle can participate in the free draw and the opportunity to win gifts and details for the promotion of urban cycling.
