A 13-YEAR-OLD student at the Gerald Brenan high school in Alhaurin de la Torre is recovering in hospital after falling from a third-floor window at the school. The accident occurred at 10.15am in the presence of the teacher and the rest of the class, when they were finishing an exam.

It is not yet known how she fell, although the Guardia Civil are investigating.

The parents of other students in the same class have suggested that the girl was having problems with her boyfriend and this could have led to the event.

The other pupils will receive counseling from the Junta de Andalucia Education Council’s specialist team, as will the teachers.
