ROADSIDE police checks carried out in Rojales in response to requests from residents concerned about local security are already getting results, with three arrests made last week. Three men were detained by the Local Police who caught them red-handed as they made off with supplies from a local construction company.
After setting up a roadside control to make random checks on vehicles and documentation on the Lo Pepin urbanisation, officers noticed that a speeding car suddenly stopped and tried to make off in the opposite direction.
A patrol car followed in pursuit and after intercepting the vehicle arrested three individuals whose identities have not been revealed.
A search revealed objects from a nearby company which they accessed by forcing the gates. After being first taken to the Guardia Civil post in Almoradi the three men were charged with robbery with force and the stolen material was returned to the owners.
