PSOE wants control on postal voting in Mojacar

THE PSOE mayoral candidate in Mojacar, Manuel Zamora, has requested that the Electoral Commission for the area keep an eye on votes arriving by post. According to Zamora, the number of votes received by post in the town is suspicious as Mojacar is not a town from which people emigrate for work at any time of year.

Zamora sent a report to the Area Electoral Commission claiming that in the 2007 municipal elections, 332 of the 2,361 voters in Mojacar sent their votes by post.

He has also claimed that local residents have reported they are being put under pressure or receiving offers from certain political parties in exchange for their vote in the post.

He is therefore requesting a strict control by the commission of the votes and how the process is carried out at Mojacar Post Office.

Zamora also reported some months back that the number of people registering as inhabitants of the town every day during the first six months of 2010 was more than was normal.
