LOCAL Police officers responded to an emergency call from an address in Playa Flamenca following a report of a domestic violence incident. On arrival they were greeted by a 5-year-old boy who it transpired was the son of the victim. Inside the property they were met by the alleged aggressor, a 40-year-old British man and resident of Orihuela Costa.
The man was stood next to his partner and a friend of the couple.
The partner had cuts to her neck and the alleged assailant had scratches to his arm. Both were transferred to the Health Centre in Cabo Roig to be treated for their injuries and later they were taken to the Guardia Civil Headquarters in Torre de la Horadada to make statements.
The man was then detained and charged with assault.
