Holidaymaker numbers on the increase

WHILE the British market fell by between 15 and 20 per cent in recent seasons; booking for this summer in the Costa Blanca have increased by 18 per cent, tourism figures show. Regional Tourism Minister Belen Juste said British tourism this year is very close to 2007’s figures, with 1.9 million booked.

There is still room for improvement she believes, since during the “boom years” the number of tourists from the British Isles accounted for 42 per cent of the total tourists coming to the Costa Blanca, while current figures are 38 per cent.
