A COURT will investigate whether Mijas town hall failed to take action against illegally built homes in the town. Lawyer Ricardo Santandreu informed that a case has been opened at a court in Fuengirola after a complaint was made by 10 local residents who claim the town hall has failed to carry out its obligations in the past decade.
The current proceedings respond to an appeal in Malaga Provincial Court after a complaint presented last November was rejected because it was considered that there was no indication a crime had been committed.
The lawyer is basing his case on the discrimination against the plaintiffs and now, information and documents are being gathered from those involved, including the former mayor Agustin Moreno and current mayor Antonio Sanchez.
The town hall believes that the case will be thrown out of court because there is no proof that anything illegal was done.
