Palma woman arrested for running over ex-boyfriend

A 32-YEAR-OLD woman was arrested accused of deliberately running-over her ex-boyfriend in the Plaza de la Guardia Civil de Palma following an argument. He managed to get up and run to the police headquarters for help and police officers saw her fleeing in her Citroen Xsara, but soon after she returned to the scene were police stopped her for questioning.

The result of an alcohol breath test was 0.70 grams per litre of blood, so she was also arrested on charges of drunk driving.

The victim, a 44-year-old Colombian man was not seriously injured, just several bruises.

Officers found the victims hand marks on the hood of the car, which coincided with his version of events and a witness turned up saying that he had seen a car drive up onto the curb and hit a pedestrian.

The Colombian said he did not wish to press charges against her because he planned to return to his home country and did not want to see her, but she was charged anyway for drunk driving and attempted manslaughter.
