Cudeca Walkathon raises €16,000

A MARCH for Cudeca Foundation known as the Walkathon held in Benalmadena Costa raised nearly €16,000, a statement said. On Sunday nearly 800 people of all ages and nationalities participated in the walk for the cancer care charity. At the start of the 10 kilometre route was Cudeca’s Medical Director, Dr. Marisa Martin, and as a guest Xanit Hospital Medical Director, José Manuel Martín Vázquez, Official Sponsor of this march for 3 consecutive year.

An hour later, the smaller routes of 5 km and a shorter 2 km one especially for the disabled started. Several members of Benalmadena town hall participated in the walk including current Mayor, Enrique Moya.

There were live performances from Jason and Adele, and their bands from Rox Studios; Marimar and her belly dancing team; Mark Connor; and Ronald McDonald the clown.

On the day there was a paella, raffles, a bouncy castle and other fun activities for the children, courtesy of Exploramas.

The winners of the awards were Kim Gottlieb who won a stay for two at the Hotel Villa Padierna and the group winner with the highest number of participants was for John Gambero, Director of Benamiel Football Club.

Cudeca thanked all participants, and over 80 volunteers who have made this 9th edition of the Walkathon, along with the invaluable assistance of:
