MALAGA Airport has introduced breathalyser tests for pilots, hostesses and staff who work on the ‘air side’ of the airport. This applies to those working in the restricted areas with platforms, service lanes, tunnels and luggage sorting areas.
The controls will be carried out by the Guardia Civil although the initiative has been introduced by the Spanish Airport Authorities, AENA, which have provided the breathalysers which will be used, and which are identically to those used at traffic controls.
Since it was introduced at the beginning of this month, 150 tests have been carried out, all of them negative.
