FOR those who miss tapping on their old typewriters, but would not want to give up spell-check; it is now possible to get the best of both worlds. A USB Typewriter conversion kit that allows computer users to type on their machines using an old-school typewriter keyboard has been designed.
It plugs into the USB port on a laptop, monitor or iPad via a sensor board.
“It is a new and ground-breaking innovation in the field of obsolescence,” said US inventor Jack Zylkin.
However, this privilege does not come cheap.
It sells on retail website Etsy.com for between $699 (€) and $899 (€), including the typewriter itself, depending on the model.
