Eviction prevented in Rincon de la Victoria

SOME 100 people from the Mortgage Victims – Stop Evictions group prevented a woman from being evicted from her home in Rincon de la Victoria last week.

Protesters from the group which branched from the ‘Real Democracy Now’ movement arrived an hour before the woman’s home on the Añoreta Urbanization was due to be reclaimed for the bank. The eviction was postponed and she will be given longer to pay the €130,000 she owes.

This week, the group planned to prevent another eviction in Torre del Mar, where a woman and her three children were in danger of being left out on the street with nowhere to go. She lost her job two years ago and was unable to pay the mortgage.
