A HOMELES man was attacked by a group of four or five youths in Plaza de España, Palma. At around 4.30am the youths approached the victim – a 41-year-old German national – who was asleep. They insulted, made fun of him, spat on him and then threw the contents of up to three cans of paint over him, witnesses told National Police.
Surprised by the attack, the man accidentally swallowed and breathed in the paint and had to be treated at Hospital Son Llatzer. Three empty cans of paint have been seized as part of police investigations and a 15-M demonstrator who was camping out in the plaza gave descriptions of the attackers.
