WORK to restore the Acueducto del Aguila, in Nerja, has been completed, according to local mayor Jose Alberto Armijo.
The aqueduct, built by local architect Francisco Cantarero in 1880, carries water from the Maro source to the Vega de Tetuan area and has been declared an Asset of Cultural Interest.
Work has taken 10 months and cost €514,000, 70 per cent of which was provided by the Junta de Andalucia. There are also plans to install artistic lighting.
