NATIONAL POLICE have reported that a ‘spam’ e-mail is being sent using their name.
The e-mail comes from the address [email protected], and the subject line reads ‘Notificacion de asistencia en la Audiencia’ (Notification of Court Attendance). It resembles a summons from the police which requests that the recipient download a virus-infected file.
Anyone whose computer is infected should consult Trendmicro or contact the Internet Users’ Safety Office (OSI). The police have said they never send summonses by e-mail.
