MALAGA Public Prosecutor is asking for 14 and 12 years in prison for two Almachar residents accused of sexually assaulting a mentally disabled minor.
For one, the prosecutor is asking for 14 years in prison, legal costs and €60,000 in compensation for abuse which took place over the course of several months before July 2001. The accused allegedly had violent, unconsented sex with the girl, threatening her with a knife and telling her he would harm her if she told her father. He gave her a mobile phone, money and other gifts to gain access to the girl.
For the second, the requested prison sentence is 12-and-a-half years and €60,000 in compensation. He allegedly took advantage of his position at the Almachar swimming-pool where the girl was taking lessons, to touch her inappropriately on several occasions at around the same time as the other man abused her.
Neither man had a criminal record.
