THE closing time of all bars and pubs in Torrevieja could be extended by 60 minutes, if the hospitality association AEHTC has its way.
Their request for a 50 per cent reduction of municipal fees for occupying public land during high season as compensation for the effects of the anti-smoking law was approved by the Town Hall at their recent plenary session.
The association is the oldest in the Valencia Region and now has 200 partners. To attract more partners, AEHTC plans to publicize exactly where the money from the €21 monthly fee is used. In Torrevieja they work with around 600 establishments in the hospitality sector, as well as members from other municipalities.
“After the high season in September, there will be an official presentation of all the projects that are in the pipeline,” said Francisco Javier Mateo Murcia, one of the main drivers of the restructuring and changes within the association.
