Man attempted to kill stepfather over volume

A MAN has been sentenced to five-and-a-half years in prison for attempting to kill his stepfather after he asked him to turn down the volume of the music he was playing.

The events took place in Lleida in November 2010, when he burst into the victim’s room armed with a kitchen knife, and after insulting him, attempted to stab him in the neck.

He failed, but instead stabbed him in the side and leg. His mother came between them and prevented him from inflicting further injuries. He claimed in court that he was drunk and didn’t remember anything.
