Esperanza Aguirre’s ‘Unfortunate’ comment

ESPERANZA AGUIRRE, the President of Madrid Region, told Alberto Ruiz-Gallardon, the capital city’s mayor that the regional government hasn’t got a “f***ing penny”. The trouble was, she didn’t realize that the microphone in front of her was turned on and the comment was recorded.

The two met at the presentation of a new BBVA Innovation Centre, and at one point she said to him “I’ve seen you’re going to spend 25 or 35 million euros… It’s in the newspaper. You’re lucky to have the money. We haven’t got a f***ing Penny”. Gallardon answered “neither have we”.
