The ‘Belle 8-3-11’ mystery grows

MYSTERIOUS posters with the picture of a girl and a date have been spotted in Spain and around the world.

Internet users have been left wondering about a website which shows a black and white photo of a small girl identified as Belle and the date 8-3-11. The only thing the website asks is for people to print posters with the image and put them up in their area to “spread the word”.

What “the word” might be, is not made clear, and what the date of August 3, 2011 – if the US date format is used – refers to isn’t either.

Thousand of internet are attempting to unravel the mystery of the girl, the strange recordings which can be heard on the site, and why the authors identify themselves with numbers.

The most popular theory is that it is a ‘viral’ campaign to create expectation over a forthcoming videogame or film, but there is nothing to support this.

Others believe it may be an art or sociology project to test how people can become obsessed with something which they know very little about.

What has been confirmed is that the ‘photograph’ of the girl is actually made up of two different photos, possibly not even of the same child. Visit http://8-3-11.info
