Gata de Gorgos nearly has electric turned off

THE small town of Gata de Gorgos approved a budget amendment on 12 July, to pay the debt of €50,000 it owed to Iberdrola, and so maintain a supply of electricity to the town’s public areas. The town was being threatened with being cut off by electricity provider.

Altea recently suffered a similar experience, and had to renegotiate the payment of outstanding electricity bills to avoid having the metre cut. In their case, the debt amounted to €600,000.
