THE already deficient reception of the Digital Terrestrial Television channels in Nerja has become worse over the summer months in the Axarquia area.
This already happened last year, mainly in coastal areas such as Torrox Costa, Maro, El Morche, Los Llanos, Mezquitilla and Algarrobo Costa.
The problem is that the signal which comes from Mijas is affected by a film caused by the heat on the surface of the sea, according to technicians. Residents in these areas have complained and steps are being taken to put an end to the problem.
In Nerja, where there have been hundreds of complaints, the town hall plans to install a booster in Maro which will improve the signal. The town hall will assign land to the Innovation and Development Agency to install the booster which will initially belong to them for 10 years.
