PROSECUTION lawyers in Alicante have asked for seven years in prison for a person employed by Spain’s immigration service, following the illegal approval of immigrants into the country, in return for bribes.
The investigation was initiated following a complaint from a lawyer in Benidorm. The National Police then deployed a surveillance and wiretapping which resulted in arrests. According to the provisional indictment prosecutors, the researchers found that it moved.
The scam involved forging papers to allow the immigration of Chinese and Ukranian nationals, and several arrests have taken place involving Chinese citizens who themselves were involved in exploiting the illegal immigrants.
