BIGASTRO’S socialist party (PSOE) denounced the Popular Party (PP) for doing away with its 24-hour police service.
“This leaves about 14 shifts a month not covered, depriving citizens of surveillance and help,” according to the PSOE. This measure apparently has already had serious consequences.
“Last weekend there was not a single officer to attend to a serious accident in the town centre, forcing people to contact the Guardia Civil,” said the socialists.
One of the main concerns is that there will not be enough officers assigned to cover the upcoming festivals. “This is a grave situation, especially considering that there are enough officers to cover all shifts.”
