Exploring the sea off Cuevas del Almanzora

THE guided tour organized by Cuevas de Almanzora Town Hall ended this month with a boat trip along the coast to see the beaches and sea beds.

This is the third year that this popular tour was carried out in a glass-bottom boat which allows participants to see what is in the water beneath them.

The activity, carried out from Villaricos, attracted so many people that two groups had to be made to take the hour-long trip, accompanied by the Tourism, Culture, Festivities and Education councillors, Rocio Rodriguez, Lola Moreno, Mariela Poveda and Eva Zamora.

Participants were able to admire the Mediterranean Tapeweed, as well as the many species of fish and crustaceans, along El Playazo, Luis Siret, Cala Verde, Dolores and Invencible beaches. They also saw some of the monuments remaining from the area’s mining past.

To finish the visit they went to Villaricos Watch Tower which holds several exhibitions during the summer.
