Manhunt for Nerja currency exchange robbers

Guardia Civil have launched a manhunt for two men who held up a currency exchange office in Nerja and stole €300 in various currencies.

Wearing hoods over their heads, the robbers used an electroshock weapon – commonly known as a Taser – against the female Argentinean employee in the office before fleeing the scene in a white BMW.

Several witnesses called the emergency services and the Guardia Civil were on the scene within minutes. They set up surveillance at all the roundabouts which access the town as well as in Almuñecar, Torrox, Algarrobo and Velez-Malaga.

Witnesses were able to take down the registration number of the vehicle when the driver put it into reverse before fleeing. The robbers also left numerous prints in the office which have been identified by Guardia Civil specialists.
