TWO disabled sisters in their eighties spent three days without food in Zaragoza after the man who cared for them died of natural causes.
The two women lived with their carer, who was married to one of them, and were found after their nephew attempted to get into the house when no-one answered his phone calls.
He alerted the police that he could hear whimpering inside the house and smell gas. Another relative, who had keys to the apartment arrived, and the door did not have to be broken down.
They found the man dead in the corridor, one of the women near his body and the other lying in the bathroom. They were dehydrated and were taken to hospital but later released.
It is believed the man died of a heart attack.
