THE body of a 10-month-old baby girl was pulled from the Ebro River in Logroño where she had been drowned by her mother’s partner.
It appears the 17-year-old mother and her partner had argued and he threatened to take the child. A witness alerted the National Police but the man left with the baby in his arms.
Almost an hour later, he went to a Local Police station and confessed he had thrown her in the water. However, his clothes were wet and it appears he went in the water with the child and drowned her. Paramedics performed CPR when she was found but to no avail.
The mother suffered an anxiety attack and was taken to hospital.
