Porto Pi Casino to open within 3 weeks

THE casino in Porto Pi will open within the next three weeks, after an investment of almost €9m, according to Spanish press reports. The casino will offer a wide variety of different aspects, including gaming, drinks and gastronomy.

The President of the Mallorca Casino, Miguel Ortiz, announced after meeting with the President of the Balearic Government, Jose Ramon Bauza, that the exact opening date for the casino will be decided soon, but that it will be sometime between September 29 and October 5.

Ortiz introduced the team who will manage the casino, as well as the 160-strong staff, 28 more than originally planned. They have not ruled out increasing the team even more.

“We are not speculators, we are here to stay” said Ortiz, while commenting on the plans to invest and create employment on the island which they group has. He is the head of a group of international gaming companies with a strong presence in Asia where casinos are highly popular.

“We have defended what was here and tried new things” he said, “if we are allowed the chance, we are going to be businesspeople. He also said that an online casino is in the pipeline and there was a possibility of opening other branches.

The casino, which will have extended opening hours, will be aimed at all kinds of clientele, although the prefer “a little economic quality in our visitors”.
