Torrevieja Lions elect new Director, Dave Daniel

The Torrevieja Costa Lions Club are delighted to announce the recent election of Lion Dave Daniel to the post of Membership Director.

Dave will have responsibility for recruitment and retention of members to the Club.

Dave is well known in charity and social circles in the area being active in organisations like the Costaleros, Strictly Social, Extinguished Firefighters and of course the local Lions Club.

Dave joined the Lions in September 2010 and in true Lions tradition he is “making a difference”, helping those in the community less fortunate than ourselves.

For those readers who are slightly disillusioned with the number of “Charity” organisations that spring up in the area, but would like to help “make a difference” where it really matters in the heart of our community, perhaps the Lions Club could be of interest to you.

The Lions fund raise all year round and every single cent raised goes to the nominated cause, there are no overheads, expenses and most importantly there are no salaries to pay for, which is not the case in some other charitable organisations who employ fund raisers.

The Club meets on the second and fourth Thursday of every month. The former meeting being a business meeting held in Hotel Cabo Cervera in La Mata at 1930 hours, and the latter being a social activity where members relax and enjoy the social side of the Club.

If you are interested in finding out more about your local Lions Club and would like to offer real help to those less fortunate than yourselves, then come along to the Club business meeting, it is an open meeting and all are welcome.
