BETWEEN January and July this year, 57.4 per cent more Polish tourists have stayed in Andalucia compared to the same period last year.
Hotels in Andalucia have registered 198,965 overnight stays from Polish tourists, and the total of 53,870 Poles to visit the region have stayed an average of 3.69 days.
The Junta de Andalucia Council of Tourism, Commerce and Sport is working with tour operators in Poland to promote Andalucia as a tourist destination.
Poland is part of the Europa Senior Tourism Programme which brings European tourists to the community with special conditions, and of the 98,000 people who have benefitted from the programme, 20,000 were Polish.
There are plans to offer charter flights from Warsaw, Lodz and Katowice, added to the regular flights available between October and April.
