A 39-YEAR-OLD Moroccan woman was killed by her husband, in the hairdresser’s she ran near her home in Puçol, Valencia.
She had reported the 62-year-old Spanish man a month earlier for beating her in the street. He attempted to flee after stabbing her to death but was arrested by Guardia Civil shortly afterwards and did not put up a fight.
He allegedly waiting until she was alone in the salon and attacked her. She was able to call the Local Police herself, who upon arrival, decided not to wait for an ambulance and took her to a health centre 300 metres away in the patrol car. However, she died just minutes later.
Apparently the woman had frequently told her friends he abused her, but it wasn’t until an attack one month ago that she reported him to the Guardia Civil. A restraining order was issued against him and she began procedures for a separation. The couple had a 16-year-old daughter.
The victim had been living in Puçol for 20 years and was very popular. The couple had met when he was travelling through Morocco as a lorry driver when she was just 19. He was a widow and smuggled her into Spain illegally in his lorry.
