Nature Parks in the Balearics to host autumn and winter activities

THE eight parks and nature reserves in the Balearic Islands are set to host 73 activities this autumn and winter.

These activities aim to bring the natural and ethnological heritage of parks and nature reserves on the islands into public consciousness, especially families, and to promote the flora and fauna of the area.

All the activities are on weekends until March 2010 and are free, but one must have previously enrolled. Activities include various itineraries, guided tours, lectures, film forums as well as theoretical and practical workshops.

The program of activities can be found on the Espais de Natura Balear website or at each park and nature reserve. Participating parks and reserves in Mallorca include Albufera, s’Albufereta, Serra de Tramuntana and Mondrag. Also participating is Cabrera Island, s’Albufera des Grau, Ses Salines de Ibiza y Formentera, as well as Vedra, es Vedranell and Illots de Ponent.

There will also be commemorations in the nature parks of Llevant Peninsular and Ses Salines of Ibiza and Formentera, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.
