THE 80-year-old Belgian who allegedly killed his wife in Calpe last week has died in Denia Hospital.
He was admitted in a serious condition on October 11 after suffering a brain haemorrhage one day after being remanded without bail by a Denia judge.
On October 8, the Guardia Civil received a phone call from the man’s son advising them that his father had killed his 78-year-old Belgian wife. Let into the couple’s home on a Calpe urbanisation by the bloodstained husband, officers sent to the crime scene found the dead woman lying on the ground with fatal injuries caused by a head wound.
The presumed killer, who had to be treated for minor injuries apparently caused by an unsuccessful suicide attempt, was held in custody until being taken to hospital three days later.
